I created this blog to share stories and information about my maternal ancestors from Wilkes County, North Carolina. My mother, grandmother, and other relatives shared many family stories with me. As I recall these stories, I will share my journey to find the truth, as well as genealogy tips I learn.

Grandma's Photo Album - Page 14 - Mabel Nichols Miller, Nick Snyder
(Left) Mabel Nichols Miller. Mabel lived to be 100 years old! This photo probably taken in the 1920's. She was born Beulah Mabel Nichols on 6 Mar 1901 in Wilkes County, NC. She married Thurman Miller about 1920. Mabel died 14 May 2001 in Ashe County, NC.(1) (2) Mabel was a cousin of my grandmother, Nora Snyder, who owned this album.
(Middle) This picture fell out -- I'll list all of these at the end of my posts on specific pages.
(Right) My great-grandfather, Nicholas Grindstaff Snyder (1863-1944) at the cemetery of Reddies River Primitive Baptist Church in Wilkes County, NC. He's at the grave of his wife, Louise Jane Whittington Snyder, on the day of her funeral, 25 Aug 1933. They were married 49 years, and had nine children.
